Interview
Q: The chemistry with you and Donte Jackson seems to be great. It looks like a great match with you on the physical receiver, and Donte on the flashy one. How do you feel about this duo heading into next season?
A: Best duo in the league. Anything short of that and we will be disappointed.
Q: Thomas Davis has obviously been a huge part of this team for a long time. What will change in the defense with him gone?
A: TD is one of the best leaders I’ve been around. What he brought to our defense can not be duplicated, but I do believe we have guys that can step into that leadership role and still have a strong impact on this defense.
Q: You finished the season with fifteen broken up passes but only one interception. Everyone is wondering how a corner with as good coverage as you only had one interception. What do you want to tell them?
A: At the end of the day I must find a way to come down with the ball, but if you were to go back and watch some of the games. A majority of my opportunities were highly contested. Just saying lol.
Q: The NFC South has some of the best wide receivers in the NFL but for you that seems to be no problem, you held each and every one of those receivers to barely 100 yards in both games combined. Every corner in the league seems to be exposed against them but you, is there something special that motivates you against the division receivers?
A: For one like you stated. They are division receivers, so I compete against them often. Two, I’m familiar with their style of play. I watch a lot of film on those guys, so I think my preparation during the week helps me out a lot. Last but not least, I play alongside some great football players as well. They help out with the challenge. It’s never a individual thing. Always a team effort.
Q: Christian McCaffrey has had a pro bowl caliber season but was ultimately snubbed. What stands out to you about him compared to other running backs?
A: I’m around CMC a lot, so I’m not sure about anyone else’s preparation during the week, but CMC’s is bar none in my opinion. He is locked in from the moment he walks into the facility. What he does on Sundays is evident. He is one of our primary receivers and is our primary running back.
